Why do we use colour coded mops?
Share
Have you ever wondered why cleaners use a colour code system when cleaning? It may seem confusing, but it's actually a brilliant thing that all cleaners must do.
All cleaners will have a colour system which they follow, allowing all employees to understand which cleaning supplies have been used and where.
It's a great system to use to avoid dangerous cross contamination as you wouldn't want anything used to clean a bathroom to then accidentally be used to clean a kitchen. By using the colour coded system, the cleaners wouldn't be able to mix up these sorts of things as red indicates bathrooms and washrooms, whereas kitchens would come under a separate colour.
You can get most janitorial supplies in a variety of colours, which allows cleaners to use the colour coded system correctly without spending a fortune on special supplies.
For example you can get mops, mop handles, buckets and cloths all colour coded without having to pay extra.
We will do a separate post soon all about the difference in colours, so sign up to our emails to make sure you don't miss it.
